ALEX CRUZ
color guard tech

Alex Cruz was born in Mexico City and was raised in Miami, Fl and Mougins, France. At an early age, he fell in love with the performing arts, but did not realize his dreams as a performer until he got to high school. He began his marching career as a member of the Marcus High School color guard and winter guard. He then went on to perform with the Nolan Independent winter guard in 2002 and served as captain in 2004.

Alex marched with the Patriots Drum and Bugle Corps in 2003 and aged out with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2004. Two years after his age out, Alex had the great pleasure of teaching the Madison Scouts color guard in 2006. He then went on to teach the Phantom Regiment from 2007-2010.

As a winter guard choreographer and designer, Alex has worked with Allen High School, Richland High School, Ars Nova A, Open, and World guards and most recently was the director of the Keller High School color guard from fall 2009 until winter 2011.

Alex has his Bachelors of Science in Biology with a focus in microbiology and has a minor in chemistry. He lives in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex and works with an amazing team at the Paul Mitchell School in Arlington where he does sales and marketing. He is incredibly excited to return to the Madison Scouts and to assist in providing the members with an unforgettable learning experience.
