Mike started his drum corps career at age 16 playing bass drum with the Crossmen. He marched there from 2001-2004 and then went on to age out with the Madison Scouts in 2006. In 2004 & 2005, he also marched in the WGI percussion ensemble, United Percussion. During that time, Mike was attending Rutgers University and marched with the Scarlet Knight Marching Band (2002-2004).
In 2007, Mike graduated from Rutgers with a degree in Computer Science. Mike has given lessons, taught, and consulted with various high school percussion programs in the NJ/PA area. After aging out of drum corps, Mike went on to join the percussion staff at the Troopers Drum Corps from 2007-2009 helping them to return to be World Class Finalists.
In 2010 and 2011, Mike reunited with Lee Beddis on the percussion staff at Carolina Crown. Mike has also been teaching at United Percussion since 2006, helping to lead them to be an Open Class Champion and then to be World Class Finalists. He now is the Staff Coordinator for United. Mike currently resides in Philadelphia, PA while designing, consulting, and adjudicating in the area.
